I asked around and this is what I got from one chemist who works with blood fractionation: Tween80 would not displace any fatty acids per se because fatty acids bind to albumin through their polar end, the carboxyl group. Tween80 would not have the conformational structure required to fit into any of the fatty acid binding sites on BSA. Tween80 has no carboxyl group, it is a non-ionic surfactant but it could still interact with albumin by hydrogen bonding. Hope this helps!
